     Families Feeding Families

Families can be powerful forces for good in the world.

Your family can help another family and change their lives, and yours, forever.

Our Mission

To give food to people in need, while teaching children agency and bringing families together.

The Problem...

Our city has a large problem. Near the million-dollar homes we drive by everyday, over 75,000 people are currently homeless in LA according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, and three quarters of those remain unhoused (not in shelter or temporary housing).

Beyond shelters, about 20,000 people live in temporary housing at any given time in Los Angeles, and it is very difficult to find permanent housing, especially in a city like LA where everything is so expensive. And of those who have homes – over 9 million people in LA - 30% of households in LA are food insecure (USC, Dec 2023), which is 2.7 million people in ONE city. According to the Oxford Dictionary, “Food Insecure” means lacking reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

Working with Creative Visions through Seven Arrows Elementary, I learned I have the power to make an impact on a anyone. whether it is a person, a community, or the world, and have actionable goals to achieve that.

I believe that our communities can do a better job supporting people with healthy, non-processed meals that are filling and delicious and nutritious. And I also think that it starts with kids knowing what is healthy and what isn't. That is why I created Service Spoon. A home-made meal service where kids can cook healthy delicious meals for their family and their community.

How we can help...

The goal for Service Spoon is to make 2 delicious and nutritious meals, one that kids can cook and eat with their family and one that they donate.

I learned that many organizations can’t accept homemade food due to regulations – even if they are healthier than the processed, and packaged food that the organizations are handing out to the people living there.

I also learned that there are many organizations that serve hot meals to the homeless – like Union Rescue Mission in Downtown and deliver pre-bagged groceries to people in need – like Westside Food Bank. Thank you for helping!
